What is faith-based Catholic therapy?
As a Catholic therapist, I am letting clients know that I accept and adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Pope John Paul II said that we Catholics are being asked to bring a "culture of life" to a world that is being consumed by a "culture of death." God said to Moses, " I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Choose life." (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Do I have to be Catholic?
No, not at all! While most of my clients are Catholic, many are not. The term "faith-based" is used to let clients know where I am coming from. It is very important to know what your therapist's values are!
